- Access your phone’s security settings
You should open the Settings app on your device. The path may vary slightly depending on the brand and model, but you can usually find it on the home screen or app drawer, then tap the gear icon.
- Go to Security, Privacy, or Passcode section
In the settings, you have to look for a section related to security. Depending on your phone, it may be labeled “Security,” “Privacy & Security,” or “Screen Lock.”
- Unlock your device
You may be asked to enter their current PIN, passcode, pattern, or use your fingerprint to access the security settings. you should provide the necessary credentials.
- Disable the screen lock code
In the Security or Privacy section, you should look for the Screen Lock or Lock Screen options. You should see a list of available lock methods like “PIN,” “Password,” or “Pattern.”
Select the currently active option (the one you’re using).
You have to confirm their identity again if prompted.
Then choose “None” or “No screen lock” to fully disable the lock code.

1. Access your laptop's settings
Open the Settings app on your device:
- Windows: Start menu > Settings (gear icon), or press
Windows + I - macOS: Apple menu () > System Settings (or System Preferences on older versions)
2. Go to the Accounts or Security section
- Windows: Navigate to Accounts > Sign-in options
- macOS: Navigate to Touch ID & Password (or Users & Groups on older versions)
3. Unlock access to the settings
You may be asked to confirm your identity before making changes. Enter your current PIN, password, or use your fingerprint if prompted.
4. Disable the screen lock code
- Windows: Under Sign-in options, select the method you currently use (PIN or Password). Click on it and choose Remove. Confirm your identity if prompted.
- macOS: You cannot fully remove the login password on macOS — it is required for system security. You can, however, disable the automatic lock by going to System Settings > Lock Screen and setting "Require password after screen saver begins" to Never.
5. Confirm the deactivation
A confirmation prompt may appear. Click Yes, Remove, or OK to validate your choice.
6. Finish the process
Once confirmed, your laptop will no longer require a code to unlock after sleep or screen saver — or will skip the login screen on startup, depending on your settings.
